Frequently Asked Questions
What dimensions should I crop to for social media? ▾
Common sizes: 1080x1080 for Instagram square, 1080x1350 for Instagram portrait (4:5, best engagement), 1080x1920 for Stories/Reels (9:16), 1200x630 for Facebook/LinkedIn shares, 1280x720 for YouTube thumbnails (16:9), and 1500x500 for Twitter/X headers (3:1).
Does cropping reduce image quality? ▾
No. The crop extracts the exact pixels from your original image at full resolution, with no re-encoding or downscaling. PNG output is completely lossless. For JPG/WebP, the selected region is encoded once at high quality.
Can I crop a passport photo? ▾
Yes. US passport photos need to be 2x2 inches (600x600 pixels minimum). UK passport photos are 35x45mm (600x750 pixels minimum). Upload your photo and crop to the correct proportions, then resize if needed using our Image Resizer tool.
Is my image uploaded anywhere? ▾
No. The crop runs entirely on your device using the browser Canvas API. Your image never leaves your computer and nothing is sent to any server.
